Hello and welcome back to my family history blog! It was DNA day on April 25, and the day I started this blog!!! So happy DNA day!!! March and April have been the most exciting month in exploring my mtDNA full sequence results via ftdna (Family Tree DNA), and RootsTech to start it off on March 2, as my results came in the same day that RootsTech started! I really didn’t know what to do after getting the reaults and then most recently I was introduced to My True Ancestry.
Finding My True Ancestry was really exciting as it literally breaks down your mtDNA and Y-DNA carried through it. If you are or are not new to getting your DNA results, this is a site I highly recommend!
These are the test they accept, and they have their own as well. You can add on in time and get the names of the individuals you are descendant of. I myself started with the smallest footman package. In time I am going to get more and more done so I know my own results. So it’s completely up to you on how you want to do it. If you do.

Below are photos of results I received. And what the site looks like. This is only some of it. It’s very overwhelming, but it’s DNA day and month, so here it goes! SOME of it anyways… not all. I’ve had some updates, along with purchasing a bigger package.
Deep dive matches…
It breaks it down to much more than this, but for the most part you can see how it works.

I have not fully delved in, nor have I purchased an entire package, I am at the 6th level now. I’m curious to know what and who else pops up. I also do not know how to fully read DNA. I’m gonna be really honest here. I can source index the heck out of people as a family historian and newbie genealogist. I contributed to adding over 1000 new records in a year until I was so burnt out, I wanted to RUNNNNN…
Subclade 1

Subclade 3
Some people I am subclade 0,1,2,and 3 to

Below is a relic I tested positive to…

… though never could I ever stop myself from working on my tree, and or helping someone when I am able to and have the information. Below are my stats for 2022 on Ancestry alone, not including family search, and WikiTree on how many hours I’ve put in voluntarily.

Doing my DNA test has been a really enjoyable part of my journey in family history. That I can say. And if you are new to DNA, her are some links to videos newly released for DNA day via RootsTech by Family Search… click HERE or click the photo BELOW to watch the videos to learn more while they are still available!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, and that you may enjoy delving deeper into who your roots go to in this journey!
