Hello! Welcome to my family history blog!!
I have a doozy to blog on today! Oh oh my have I some tea to spill, I really should have a family history podcast to be honest! I’ve so many other ones. I need one for myself, under my own name I do, I do.
What happens when you unravel hidden family secrets?
Doors that people closest to you meant to keep shut, never shared, a mystery. Is it really better being blind to knowing who you really are? That is the true question. I found deep hidden immediate family, family secrets. In doing so, and not exposing anyone alive, at least not since both my parents passed away. You know I found it funny when my DNA test came back. Exposing, and putting the pieces together of what took me over 37 years to do. A promise made to my father while on his deathbed. He made me promise to find out. Because it was my grandparents and great grandparents that hid it and it goes into us women being traded as tithing offering through churches for marriage to keep our family family!!!! And it made me this… me. Full Circles.
I found the documents and sources as proof, sold and traded, slaves until they reached the age of 18. You can read it here. Really made me cry for a long time while reading it, and I still need to read more. It will be a whole other blog…
Ok, so if you are familiar with my family tree, then you are familiar with both my maternal and parents grandmothers having the last name Clark. On my father’s there is a straight male Clark line that is dominant, on my mom’s there is 2 Clark lines, not related that I can see. FULL circles over and over where maternal and paternal meet and come to me direct. The auroboras. And now that I’ve found it, I can stand and reach above and see all around the WHOLE picture, and depths of my roots.
BUT…
I did find the broken Clark line at my maternal 5th great grandmother is the same solid male Clark line on my Paternal side.
Fact to find both my maternal and paternal grandmothers are both Clark and to find yes they are from Clark but on my mom’s side there are 2 Clark branches, and 1 is same 5th ggs but from the brother on my dads side and sister on my moms. I found my parents are 4th cousins 😬😶🌫️🧐 I swear they didn’t know either …

I bawled my eyes out for hours upon discovering both my parents are also my 5th cousins and I’m so related to myself it’s ridiculous.

The next line I am investigating, I believe may be the same line on both maternal and paternal sides are my 3rd and 4th great grandmother’s whom are both Phillip’s. I’ve also many other lines that do mix but it’s further back, like 13 generations, which I was ok with. The closer it got to me personally, the more I started crawling on the inside and literally got sick for hrs and had to learn to know myself inside and out all over again.

I plan on investing this today and more. Also I found so much more on My Heritage now that I linked my family search account, but rebuilding my tree on MH from scratch but it’s picking up quickly but took me back to the 2 cousin on my dad’s side both name William Henry… one Pearcy, one Piercy, lived next door to each other and even went to same school, on same census records. My Heritage says I’m from William Fred and not Sherwood Henry … says the one brother different and that makes me so confused! What if we are from William Fred instead! Ahhh …
Thank you for tuning into my crazy family history journey, this is for my future generations so they do not grow up confused but know exactly where and who they come from!
