Welcome to my family history blog! If your new here, feel free to explore. Please take note that, even though I have over 30 yrs experience as a family historian, I am not a professional genealogist with years of experience, but now a newby genealogist with years of experience being a family historian.
My first major breakthrough past the 1800’s was just 5 yrs ago. I’m still learning, and sometimes after hours source indexing, I may miss something, though I always do go back and add more sources as I comb through my tree with a fine tooth comb. There is one part of my tree with my 3rd great grandparents that cousins keep changing on my living tree. So my indexed side says one thing and my cousins says another. So, I am on a journey to get all birth, death, marriage records printed and put all in one place. On my father’s side, as I was souce indexing I found, 2 siblings have a child with the same name. I do have OUR original family Bible and that is where I got my original information from, directly written by my grandparents, and that along with documents I do have. I believe that with the source indexing I do myself then someone’s information I do not know personally, even if extended family, and or until I find proof otherwise. At the moment I am going through each person carefully, because I came across distant cousins and or other people attaching wrong information and connects me accidently to my uncles and cousins line. So I am investigating exactly when and who is attaching so I can reach out to correct again and not have it changed.
Here is some of the source indexing I’ve done on my Maternal and paternal sides.

The journey to getting my parents Headstones was a pain in itself with the place they chose to be buried. I’m grateful I was able to get it taken care of, though unfortunately the funeral home, tried to rip me off several times. They can rest in peace now.

Growing up in my family, I always heard my grandparents, on both sides of my family talk about family history. On my dad’s side I remember my grandfather talking about tracing the piercy roots back and my great grandfather and him actually went to Denmark, Ireland, and all the places we came from, that they knew of at the time. They did not have the tree completed and were on investigation terms flying blind, so to say. They found we do have a family castle that is ours in Kelly County, Ireland, it is in Ruins though. And, a few other properties in England, Wales. I was told personally by my uncle great Ralph Pearcy that I could have all the family’s land if I want that type of responsibility. Which I DO NOT. Because, we are talking restoration of castle Ruins! 🏰 and then I’d have to keep up with the grounds and who knows what else. NO THANK YOU. Big money hole. And that’s not who I am, I am American, I really LOVE this land, as I’m made of both sides of the fence.
My dad grew up on a farm part time in the Ozarks with his half siblings, and the other half of time with my Grandma Doris in Ohio and Michigan after most of our family all migrated from the Ozarks in Missouri, up into Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. He sadly passed away in 2012 from the effects of Agent Orange. I am 2nd Generation.
My mother, also grew up on a farm in Illinois.
Both sides of my family are military, and farmers for the most part, as 80-90% of men in my immediate family serve in the United States Army, Navy, Airforce, and Marines. 90% of the women in our family are wives and mothers with careers to help our husband’s. We are old fashioned, believe in family first, still have dinner at the table and talk amongst ourselves without electronics clouding our judgement when doing so. At least in my home. That’s how it is.
I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. And when I was 8 yrs old, just like many families struggle, I remember not having running water, not having electricity, getting water out of a well, heating it over a bonfire, using lanterns, washing clothes on a washboard. We started moving all the time, and I ended up going to 17 schools. In more than a few states. My father kept a solid roof over our head though. He never gave up, never, and the result of that made me into the strongest I know. He never whined, no complaints, and him and my mom were best friends and married for over 40.
The Native American ancestors I found so far are on both my mom and dad’s side. Here is the information I have on them. I do have more, though it is physical copies in storage. I am sure I can find documents again online somewhere, and when time allows I can dig. I do have more information that gets into more detail, though I have enough for an entire new post on that itself as my Native American history goes beyond the European Invaders.

I hope this helps in knowing a little bit more about who I am and how I was raised.
I grew up dancing at pow-wows, I only knew about my Native American Roots aside from a few ancestors and I even speak some tsalagi, and registered as Western Band Wolf Clan. My father’s side is Wolf Clan, as my mother’s is mixed Wolf Clan and Long Hair clan in Cherokee. I am mixed of 7 tribes that I’ve proven and know of. Cherokee, Seneca, Powhatan, Potomac, Rappahonnock, Pamunkey, Shawnee, and was registered woodland Metis in Ontario, Canada for awhile until they disbanded.
